The Event's main objectives are:
- To bring the selected/identified municipal representatives, who have been working on their proposals on possible funding, to share their draft proposals, provide feedback to other colleagues, and use the Event to tweak, re-adjust their own proposals based on the discussion and feedback.
- In addition, the proposed Event will offer an excellent opportunity for peer learning through discussions of the actual steps being taken and exploring collaboration possibilities. This will be an “Invitation Only” Event and will be limited to the participating municipalities of Nepal (3 municipalities), Botswana, Uganda, and Sierra Leone, together with the GIZ and invited experts.
- The Event is expected to establish a network of municipalities engaged in promoting tourism. They are encouraged to keep in touch with each other, solicit joint funding opportunities, and continue the relationship beyond the virtual Event.
