Good urban governance, integrated urban development, local economic development and municipal services are the focal thematic areas for Connective Cities and the framework within which the network members will engage. The learning processes organized by Connective Cities are informed by themes selected for the region based on need and further refined in consultation with stakeholders.
In the fourth phase (2022-2025) of the project, Sub Saharan Africa will focus on the following topics to start with:
- Flood management for risk informed urban development (in collaboration with the Global Initiative on Disaster Risk Management -GIDRM)
- Circular economy in waste management
Other topics shall be determined in the course of time to respond to the needs of the cities/municipalities.
Additionally and to strengthen the network, events (virtual or physical) will be held on thematic areas to enhance learning.
We continue to foster learning and exchange through our platform in the region and across the regional boundaries through:
- Learning processes
- Insight sessions
- City-to-city exchange
- Knowledge products documented and disseminated through our media channels, website, community platform, Facebook, YouTube & LinkedIn
