In the wake of the Pandemic, municipalities in the MENA region both urban and rural, are dramatically rethinking their modes of operation and accelerating their shift towards digitalization.
Through peer-learning processes, best practices dissemination and practice-oriented workshops, members of this working group will get adhere to an approach that facilitates adopting structural reforms that help restore public trust, strengthen human capital, advance gender equity, address fragility, Digitize Municipal services and enable green growth.
Identified Challenges
-Absence of GIS service and database within the municipality
-Lacks in-house expertise in the fields of surveying and geomatics
-Poor resource management and Lack of digitalization services, insufficiency and inefficiency of human capacity in water governance sector in Municipality
-The inability of Madaba to integrate the addressing system into a web-platform. This is leaving the citizens of Madaba, the tourists, emergency services, delivery services and more, unable to give proper directions because they are still unfamiliar with the official addressing system and don’t have proper access to it.
