Overcoming the Digital Divide and Access to Technology

Jorge Rodriguez

Digital Divide is defined by the inequality of access to technology and digital services that exist between different groups in your municipality.

If Digital Public Services wish to actually reach the majority of the citizens as they should, it is not enough to just transform Public Services into Digital Services. You need to secure equality of access to them.

Several vulnerable groups of citizens are currently automatically excluded from digital services when they become digital since they do not have access to technology (hardware, software, connectivity, etc). To help these citizens be able to have education, healthcare, social protection, security, etc through your digital services, the Digital Divide needs to be solved.

How to solve this dilemma?

Come join the Digitalisation Cluster and participate in the Digital Divide Working Group to meet experts, and other municipality teams to exchange experiences, learn from each other and share your case with potential partners and supporters.
