Invitation to the special edition of our Insight Sessions on 17 May 2022 from 10:00 to 12:30 CEST on "How can members of the international community help Ukraine during the current war?"
On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a full-scale military invasion into Ukraine that has over nine hundred civilian deaths and pushed millions of Ukrainians to flee to neighbouring countries. Due to the war, thousands of people in Ukraine lack primary needs and their well-being is threatened.
Over the timeframe of the past three years (2019-2020), Ukraine was the most engaged and collaborative member of two Connective Cities Learning Processes as well as the special programme "Municipal Response to COVID-19". As a project we worked closely with more than 15 Ukrainian cities and municipalities, but all ongoing and planned mutual activities have been fortified due to the current war.
Connective Cities decided to organize an insight session to raise awareness of the current state of needs in Ukraine. During the session, representatives of international organizations currently actively assisting safety assurance of citizens in Ukraine, experts and Ukrainian counterparts will talk about prevailing issues and needs on the ground in order to explore trustworthy pathways of assistance provisions that can be provided by the regional community members.
