كجزء من مجموعة العمل لإدارة الأزمات ، ستتناول ورشة العمل الأساليب العملية والتدخلات حول كيفية إدارة الأزمات على مستوى البلديات.

- الإبلاغ عن مخاطر الكوارث (مقدمة عن المفاهيم والموضوعات الرئيسية و أمثلة على الممارسات الجيدة ، مثل التعامل مع كوفيد 19 بما يتضمنه ذلك من استخدام التكنولوجيا الرقمية لإدارة الكوارث خاصة حالة ندرة الموارد
- زيادة الوعي بمفهوم إدارة الكوارث
- عشرة خطوات لخلق مدينة مقاومة للكوارث والتي ستركز أكثر على إدارة المخاطر ، وهي إطار عملي تم تطويره بواسطة الامم متحدة كدليل عملي للبلديات
كما ستتاح للمشاركين الفرصة لمناقشة تحدياتهم الحالية مع السيد أندروز.

As part of the global crisis management working group, this workshop will present practical methods and interventions on how to manage crises on a municipal level.
International expertise and experiences will be provided by international expert from renowned institutions: Mr. Ben Andrews, who is a Senior Consultant in the Sustainability and Resilience Team at AECOM and the founder of Adapt40, has been specialising on Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Resilience for many years. Mr. Andrews has also extensive experience working in EMEA, South & South East Asia, Caribbean and Africa.
Furthermore, he has experience of successfully delivering disaster risk, adaptation and resilience projects in both urban and rural context including conducting climate vulnerability research in Madagascar for rural communities impacted by cyclones, droughts and flooding, as well as supporting the development of resilience strategies for cities in Morocco and Turkey.
The workshop will address the needs of the municipalities which have been identified in previous working sessions:
- Introduction and identification of climate and disaster risk.
- Communicating disaster risk (intro to key concepts and themes, and also good practice examples e.g. dealing with COVID-19) and including lean technology for DRM esp. if there are scarce resources).
- Awareness raising on disaster management.
- 10 Steps to Making a Disaster Resilient City (which will focus more on managing risk, and is a framework developed by UNDR -a practical guide for municipalities).
The participants will also have the chance to discuss their current challenges with Mr. Andrews.
